School is set in beautiful grounds with Haigh Hall on its doorstep. A recent redevelopment has resulted in engaging outdoor spaces that the children love to explore throughout the day and the inspiring curriculum engages, develops and provides opportunities for the children to innovate and express their learning.
Over the past twelve months, Canon Sharples has secured a number of awards including Arts Mark Award Silver, School Games Award Gold, Ruth Miskin Accreditation, Quality Mark for English and Mathematics as well as the Church School Values Award. At the Wigan and Leigh Education Awards, school was shortlisted in four categories and it was wonderful to see a Year Six pupil win Primary Pupil of the Year! As well as receiving a Highly Commended Certificate in the Inspirational Teaching category, Health and Wellbeing Category and Primary School of the Year.
